Export options are another highlight. You're not just restricted to saving your graphs as regular images (GIF, JPG, PNG), the program can also export EPS, SVG/ SVGX and PDF. There's even an HTML page with a custom Flash viewer, complete with its own chart panning, zoom and print controls.

Inkscape is a free and open source vector graphics editor. You get the basic functionalities of creating a flowchart or a data flow diagram. It does not offer advanced diagramming tools but the basic ones to create simpler diagrams. So, Inkscape could be your Visio alternative only if you are looking to generate basic diagrams with the help of diagram connector tool by utilizing the available symbols from the library.
yEd Graph Editor yEd is a powerful diagram editor that can be used to quickly and effectively generate high-quality drawings of diagrams. Create your diagrams manually or import your external data for analysis and auto-magically arrange even large data sets by just pressing a button. Application Features Automatic Layout yEd can be used to automatically lay out complex data sets. Highly sophisticated mathematical layout algorithms can be used either to automatically arrange the diagram elements or to support you when undertaking a manual layout.
Additionally, yEd also allows conveniently importing symbols into the palette. It supports importing image file formats (JPG, PNG), SVG vector graphics, and shape stencils from Visio VSX files. Diagram Output For exporting diagrams, yEd offers file formats for image and vector graphics export including:
From list method allows to load graph from list of dictionaries, generally containing link details like source, target, labels. Additionally source and target can be defined using dictionaries as well, containing nodes details.
To arrange diagram nodes in certain way one can use layout method that relies on igraph library to calculate node coordinates in accordance with certain algorithm. List of supported layout algorithms and their details can be found here together with brief description in API Reference section.
The editor provides a variety of features to make diagram creation simple, without sacrificing power. The application can import data from several formats, including GraphML, Excel XLS, GEDCOM, and GML. When creating your graph, you can choose from a variety of elements to customize your diagram. You can use shape nodes, group nodes, UML elements for class diagrams, BPMN symbols for business process diagrams, and flowchart symbols.
yEd Lite is a self-contained, complete source code demo that presents almost the same functionality as the free yEd graph editor, which you can find on the yWorks website. The yEd Lite package is available as a separate download item in the yWorks Download Center, it can be readily compiled and started using the y.jar yFiles Java archive file.
Diagrams and images liven up dry talks and lectures, but some find it difficult to design drawings and graphs with popular office suites. The yEd graph editor [1] makes this process much easier and faster.
where the name depends on the version you downloaded. This command launches the graphical installer (Figure 1). After presenting the proprietary freeware license, the routine prompts you for the path of the installation, the default directory being /home//yEd. Although the software does not create a launcher in the start menu of the desktop environment, it does offer to create one on the desktop. If this is not done automatically, copy the file yEd graph Editor.desktop from the program directory to the desktop.
On the left, after creating a graphic, you will find statistical information below Overview and Neighborhood. Additionally, the program window includes a horizontal bar with buttons at the top, offering quick access to important functions. Above this is a traditional menubar.
Using drawing tools to manually create graphs and diagrams can be a slow and convoluted process. The Graphviz toolbox offers a faster way. Based on a short text with the information for the graph, Graphviz quickly generates a neat drawing.
yEd Graph Editor is an excellent, up-to-date tool for flowcharts, diagrams, trees, network graphs, and more. You can download the app as a JAR file (which requires Java on your system) or an EXE (which includes a Java installer). It's powerful and versatile, but the trade-off is an ugly, Swing-based interface.
PlantUML is unlike all the other flowchart creators in this list. Instead of a graphical interface, you create your diagrams using PlantUML's scripting language. This is an excellent tool for programmers who don't like mouse-based drag-and-drop. PlantUML requires Java on your system.
Yed Graph Editor is a product of German company yWorks. Recently the company has changed business goals. As a result Yed Graph Editor became available as a free download with unrestricted functionality. Yed Graph Editor allows to create graphs with different layouts. It has many charming algorithms to build beautiful graphs, store it as xml files and export in many formats.
The primitive element of the graph is a node. It can have name, tooltip description and url. Quite big range of shapes, images and background colours allow to make it attractive. Nodes are linked by edges. The edge can have its own name, description, colour arrows and even url.
Among its features are: a customizable workplace that lets you arrange your tool windows to meet your precise needs multiple editor windows can be opened simultaneously tabular property editors that enable you to easily configure the graphical properties internationalization: yEd is localized in English and German a sophisticated print preview that enables you to preview the printing results (this is especially practical for poster-printing) session management: yEd remembers and manages your settings undo functionality clipboard facility keyboard shortcuts for most of the functions integrated help system The user interface supports comfortable working with diagrams through the following elements: powerful searching and selection utilities zooming (resembling a magnifying glass, for example) and overview (zooming can be controlled using the mouse-wheel) context views that display specific information related to selected diagram elements, like, e.g.
Properties Mapper enables turning user-defined additional data that is stored with graph elements into visual properties of the corresponding elements Diagram CreationData Import yEd can be used to build, modify, and visualize diagrams in an effective and efficient manner.
A Processing Modeler can be saved in QGIS 2.18.15 as a Python (.py) file. Adhering to good advice by @Spacedman in an earlier thread, I wish to know what are the many ways the (.py) files for the QGIS Processing Modeler can be converted into other formats such as the Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg) which can be used in a SVG-editor e.g. Inkscape as suggested by @Spacedman (or for other file formats) where I can create an aesthetically neat graphical representation of the QGIS Processing Modeler, unlike in the QGIS Processing Modeler user interface where it can be challenging to align the elements in the modeller, since there is no Grid (like in yED graph editor).
